I don't know about you, but I am chomping at the bit to get my hands in the dirt. Unfortunately, the nights are still pretty cool here so I have to settle for starting seeds.... I know it's a such a drag. There are two things I wanted to talk to you about today. The first is making sure that you have gotten your garden journal started. If you haven't, check out this blog post about why it's so important to make sure that you are journaling your garden. The second thing I wanted to talk to you about is Seedtime. I have been trialing this website for the last 2 months and it's safe to say that I am in love. While I have had to reconfigure some things for when I start and plant seeds, it really has been an amazing tool. Usually, but this time of the season, I have already lost track of seed start times, up-potting, and when exactly I am supposed to be planting. Like last year, I started all of my peppers and tomatoes at the same time and totally forgot to up-pot ANY of them. Another feature that I absolutely love is the garden planning tool! We have completely gutted and are rebuilding our big garden. This planner has been really helpful in maximizing space. If you are interested in learning more about Seedtime, click this link. You will get a $5 seed credit just for signing up! Happy Gardening!!!! |

Now, I know what you are thinking, Leigh, why don't you just input all your income and expenses every month like a normal person? Well, apparently I'm not normal because I rarely get my expenses and income put in during a regular month. Nope. My brain is all over the place all the time. So every...
Hey guys! I just wanted to check in and see how ya'lls August is going! I know a lot of people have kids back in school, the garden is wild and canning/ preservation season is chugging right along. Life is crazy and the blessing of overabundance may not seem much like a blessing. Trust me when I say, we are right there with you! I don't know how it's been in other parts of the country, but we had about 6wks of drought followed by about 3wks of straight rain. My tomatoes are toast. We tried to...
If you are one of the many new goat owners that are now struggling with how to care for your new baby, I'm here to help! When we purchased our goats, we were totally clueless. To the point that we had no idea that one of our goats was full of worms before we even brought him home! Hindsight is 20/20 and we should have known then, but we didn't. And our lack of knowledge cost us a our first baby. Since then, it has been my mission to learn everything that I could about these animals. And after...
